On 1 April 2018, the Göttingen local court opened insolvency proceedings regarding the assets of the long-established industrial bakery and appointed attorney Daniel Goth of the law firm InsoTreu as insolvency administrator. Mr. Goth had already been acting as temporary trustee since the opening proceedings on 29 January 2018 and had, in this function, overseen the restructuring and reorganisation of the group of companies. The insolvency administrator has now been able to successfully conclude an asset deal (restructuring by transfer) effective 1 July 2018. As the transferee, Bäckerei Kopp GmbH will continue to operate the business unchanged following the successful restructuring in the insolvency proceedings. The jobs of the 125 employees of the group of companies have been safeguarded in the long term through the transfer of the firm.
